As we enter 2014 now seems the perfect time to have a look at the latest betting odds for the feature races at the 2014 Cheltenham Festival.

Following a busy Christmas period of top class National Hunt racing, the Cheltenham Festival 2014 ante-post betting markets are really starting to take shape, especially for the Champion Hurdle which looks set to be one of the greatest contests the famous Cheltenham racecourse has ever seen.

Hurricane Fly dazzled with a fantastic display in the Ryanair Hurdle which forced the bookies to cut the reigning Champion from 6/1 to the 7/2 co favourite of three along with The New One and My Tent or Yours.

The 2014 Champion Hurdle could also be the target for super-mare Annie Power who is now 12/1 (Sportingbet) to win at the Festival following her success over Zarkandar on New Year’s Day.

One of the horses to drift for the Festival was At Fishers Cross who was turned over at odds of 8/11 in the Long Walk Hurdle. That has seen his odds for the World Hurdle drift from 6/1 out to a best price 14/1 (Coral). Big Bucks is still the ante-post favourite for the World Hurdle 2014 at 5/2 with Betfred.

Reve De Sivola won the Long Walk Hurdle and is now 16/1 (Paddy Power) from 201 to win the World Hurdle at Cheltenham.

In the 2014 Gold Cup ante-post odds Bobs Worth and Silviniaco Conti were both shortened up. Bobs Worth is into odds of 5/2 (Bet365) following his success in the Lexus Chase at Leapordstown and despite not having it all his own way he powered away over the last to win impressively.

Silviniaco Conti got the better of Cue Card in the King George on Boxing Day and after his fall in last year’s Gold Cup he will be expected to go well in the Cheltenham Gold Cup 2014. Conti is a best price 4/1 with William Hill in the Gold Cup ante-post betting odds.

Sprinter Sacre’s irregular heartbeat following being pulled up in his reappearance means Sky Bet have pushed him out to Even money to win the Queen Mother Champion Chase but with one firm still pricing him at 1/2 there could be value in taking a punt on the wonder-horse in the ante-post market in the hope he recovers in time to take his place in the 2014 Cheltenham Festival.
