Chelsea v West Ham Betting Tips and Predictions

Wednesday night sees another London derby as Chelsea and West Ham face off at Stamford Bridge and we have free footballing betting tips.

Chelsea go into this game on the back of an FA Cup fourth round victory over Stoke which made it seven straight wins and eight without defeat. They have been impressive in recent games to say the least. Against Stoke Oscar and Hazard carved open chance after chance. Only Begovic and poor finishing stopped Chelsea from scoring 5 or 6 goals.

West Ham by contrast cleverly avoided a Friday night fifth round tie against Preston North End by losing 5-0 to Championship side Nottingham Forest and go into this game on the back of defeat a 3-1 home defeat to Newcastle.

Chelsea are 2/11 to win on bet365 with a draw being 7/1 and a West Ham victory being 18/1 at the same provider.

A £10 stake on West Ham would yield £190 return but frankly I can't see it happening. If you are a die hard West Ham fan though I will say this. Mourinho has to lose at home sometime right?

Still back in the land of the sane it is clear that betting on the result doesn't offer a great deal of value.

I reckon that both teams will score in this game though. West Ham have both Andy Carroll and Kevin Nolan back. They are likely to cause trouble at set pieces. Plus they have Italian new boys Marco Borriello and Antonio Nocerino who will be looking to impress.

Chelsea to win and both teams to score is 2/1 at William Hill. Now if both teams are going to score and Chelsea will win then it makes sense to look at the goals market. Over 2.5 goals is 4/9 on William Hill.

If you don't fancy any of that though the goalscorers market looking interesting Kevin Nolan is 13/2 at Betvictor to be the first West Ham goalscorer. Even more appealing though is Eden Hazard to score anytime at 7/5 on bet365.

The bet of the week though has got to be for a player to be sent off. Not only is this a derby but Chelsea's speed in attack is truly frightening. Given the way Roger Johnson dives/slides into tackles I've got to think he will foul Eden Hazard multiple times. He is a walking red card. A West Ham player to be sent off is 6/1.
