2.05 – JLT Aston Park Stakes (Listed) 1m5f61y

Selection: HARRIS TWEED @ 10/3 with Sporting Bet

Smart performer on his day as he showed when winning the Group 3 John Porter Stakes on his return last season. He struggled to build on that last season but ran some solid races in defeat; finished 3^rd in the Yorkshire Cup behind Red Cadeaux and a close 3^rd in a Listed contest at Newmarket. Richard Hughes is booked to ride and he will look to dictate matters from the front. He has a good record fresh and he should prove tough to beat if anywhere near his best

E/W Selection: PERENNIAL @ 8/1 with Ladbrokes

Four year old son of Motivator who struggled on the whole last year in pattern company, his best effort coming when 3^rd in a Listed race at Goodwood. Gelded over the winter and made a pleasing enough return when 6^th at Epsom, not given too hard a time. Should come on for that run and the step up in trip looks likely to suit. Dropped 2lb and can be competitive in a wide open race

2.40 – Betfred Mobile Lotto Handicap (Class 2) 6f8y

E/W Selection: SIGNOR SASSI @ 12/1 with Bet Victor

Consistent performer who gradually progressed last season after winning his maiden. Finished 2L adrift of favourite Modern Tutor in a maiden contest in June and whilst he has something to find with that rival he is handicapped to run well. Makes his debut for new yard and was withdrawn from a similar contest not so long ago presumably to race here instead. Carries light weight and open to further progress

E/W Selection: VICTRIX LUDORUM @ 16/1 with Coral

Much improved during his 2 year old season winning two valuable sales races here at Newmarket. Hasn’t performed so well on her last two starts but ran ok on her seasonal reappearance and she should come on plenty for that run, with lots of fillies taking a while to come to themselves after a cold winter. Steps into handicap company on a mark of 95 which does not give her much room for manoeuvre, but a step forward from her last run can see her go well

3.15 – Betfred Mobile Sports London Gold Cup (Handicap) (Class 2) 1m2f6y

Selection: HILLSTAR @ Evens with Bet Victor

The Michael Stoute yard is in flying form and Hillstar made a pleasing reappearance when a close 2^nd behind Soviet Rock at Newmarket. That was just his third career start and his first in a handicap and he is open to lots of improvement. Up 9lb for his latest effort but clearly progressive and ought to prove tough to beat

3.30 – Coral King Charles II Stakes (Listed) 7f

Selection: DUNDONNELL@ 5/2 with Bet Victor

Carries a penalty but is the class horse in the race judged on his efforts last season when he was a Group 3 winner. Couldn’t match Toronado in the Craven on his seasonal reappearance but he can come on for that run and even a repeat of that gives him leading claims dropped in grade. Has enough pace for 7f and looks sure to be in the mix

3.50 – JLT Lockinge Stakes (Group 1) 1m

Selection: FARHH @ 5/1 with Ladbrokes

Unfortunate not to have registered a Group success after chasing home some very smart horses no more so than Frankel twice last season. His optimum trip is probably 1m2f and slightly softer ground may have favoured him but he still holds strong claims on form. Yard have made a slow start to the season but had a timely winner yesterday and he is likely to be primed for a big run. The unexposed Declaration Of War has proved strong in the market and could have improved over the winter, whilst Cityscape is a true miler and both will provide stern tests
