Newcastle to beat Stoke 4/5:

The Magpies excellent league form continues after a comfortable away win against newly promoted and struggling, Crystal Palace. A three-goal thriller for Pardew’s men has now improved their battle with the Premier Leagues leading pack. Lying now in 6th position, Newcastle could climb further on Boxing Day, but to complete this, Newcastle will have to slay Stoke. The Potters travel north to St James Park with the intention of continuing winning mentality, after securing a vital three points against close neighbours Aston Villa in their previous Premier League encounter. Newcastle boasts the better record in their last five games, gaining ten points in total, whereas Stoke have gained eight points. If Southampton were to lose to the Welsh hand in Cardiff, Stoke could find themselves representing a huge turnaround, a win away on Boxing Day can see Stoke move up to 9th. An impressive statue to hold for the red and white stripes as their form earlier in the season wasn’t at best. Newcastle will be the one to watch though in this encounter, a full house at St James will be expecting firepower once again because the Magpies have fired goals in four of their last five.

Arsenal to beat West Ham 8/13:

In the new Premier League season, surely in the late stages of 2013, the Gunners have proven their credentials for the league title and they will be looking to end off the year with another three points. Arsenal have been excellent both at home and on their travels and are only one point off 1st position before their crunch match against Chelsea. After failing to gain ground in their last three matches, Arsenal will be hoping to bounce back with title contender winning form when they make the short trip to East London to face West Ham. West Ham as of late, have failed to slam down any consistency in the league and are hanging on by one point in 17th position. West Ham haven’t shown any hunger in front of goal and have only managed to peg back Tottenham Hotspur at White hart lane winning both in the league and the League Cup. Big Sam has problems and hosting Arsenal couldn’t come at any worse time, the only option would be to stop Arsenal playing ‘their’ way, but even so Wenger will find another way to fire the guns at Upton Park.

Derby to beat Huddersfield 13/10

The Rams have discovered a new beast within them under the reign on Steve Maclaren. Derby are a sensational run of form, racking up seven straight victories which hasn’t been achieved since way back in 1995. The point collecting has also paid off, resulting Derby in being placed in 4th position and a win against Huddersfield on Boxing Day could see them take control of the Sky Bet Championship which would surely top off 2013. Derby have been the one to watch with their fluidity, balancing and attacking display, a total of sixteen goals have been rammed in both home and away. Promotion candidates, Blackpool were defeated as well as ex premiership outfits, Middlesbrough and Wigan.

Huddersfield will be their hosts and Derby might be looking at this as a three pointer because Huddersfield have failed to win in their last three games. Huddersfield are in 13th position and have progression ambitions of their own, a change in form is needed to avoid being pulled down further in the league. With Reading, QPR and Leeds stumbling in the last round, Derby have picked the perfect time to take control of the hot seat and a win on Boxing Day will surely be  on Mclaren’s cards.

Chesterfield to beat Hartlepool 10/11:

Chesterfield have clinched top spot going into Christmas with an impressive Christmas cracker down south at Exeter. The new League One table toppers came out with a 2-0 victory, which has now boosted their confidence that has now stretched across three games. Most importantly for The Spireities, a two point gap has now been achieved against 2nd place, Oxford Utd who could only managed a goalless draw against York who are in 21st and haven’t managed a win in four games previous. Hartlepool will travel to the new Proact Stadium, with an intention of demolishing The Spireities commanding home form, which has seen the blue shirts only lose once since November. Hartlepool currently sit in 14th position and already face a difficult challenge before travelling to Chesterfield. The northern seaside town have failed to grasp three points from their last five games. The League Two table is already proving to be tight and points lost at both ends of the table could lead to disaster if other results were to follow. At the moment though, Chesterfield are proving to be the shining star on the League Two tree and Hartlepool will have to find something strong to knock it down.
