Grandeur (9/4 Betfred) is the current market favourite despite flopping on his last start for the Winter Derby over C&D.  On that occasion he was drawn wide and with a more favourable stall position he should be seen to better effect, in what looks to be a highly competative contest.

Robins Hoods Bay (7/2 William Hill) claimed the Winter Derby prize in good fashion and has a tendancy to run very well when appearing at Lingfield. There is definitely value in the horse, thanks in part to the strong market support for Grandeur, and in part to a favourable draw in stall 7.

Solar Deity (5/1 Ladbrokes) has returned from a Winter spell in Dubai and has every chance considering a good number of horses have returned from Meydan and won since.  It is more than likely that this horse will be fit and ready to run well but there is a concern as to whether or not he will stay the further trip.

Marshgate Lane (8/1 bet365), Rebellious Guest (14/1 William Hill) and Bancnuanaheireann (16/1 Coral) all have good form that ties in with most of the field.  Of the three, Marshgate Lane looks to have the best chnace after two solid victories at the end of last season and, if returning fit and well, should be in with solid claims.

DICK DOUGHTYWYLIE (12/1 Coral) finished fourth in the Winter Derby from a poor draw and comes here after running in some very good races throughout last year.  Trainer John Gosden is in blisteringly hot form and the horse looks progressive with the the ideal characteristics needed to win.
