3.15 Goodwood

The Nassau Stakes is the highlight and although it attracts just seven runners, it looks a competitive contest. I really like the look of AMAZING MARIA (8/1 SkyBet), who looks a decent price. She was a superb two-year-old, having won twice over C&D extremely easily, so her experience over the tricky Goodwood track will be very beneficial. She flopped on her seasonal reappearance in the The Derby, nonetheless, stamina was always a doubt and at least she would have had a pipe-opener. Trainer Ed Dunlop has been in solid form recently, much like jockey James Doyle who has rode two winners thus far at the Festival. With rain scheduled to come over night, that shouldn’t inconvenience this filly as her best form has come on good ground.

Mango Diva looked very good when landing a Group 2 in Ireland last time out and she has progressed to become a high class filly. She could well be another typical Sir Michael Stoute improving project but she will have to step-up yet again to land her first Group 1.

5.00 Goodwood

Later on in the day and we have a decent nursery on our hands and I like the form horse WHEN WILL IT END (2/1 bet365). He landed a similar contest last time out at Newmarket stylishly, showing an excellent turn of foot. Despite rising 6lbs for that effort, he looks capable of defying his elevated mark. With an entry in a very good 2yo race at York later this month, connections clearly think a lot of him and I expect him to go very well here.

Stec makes the long trip south from Cheshire to run in this event and he won last time out at Newbury. He’s progressed well since his debut, handles any ground, and will be aided by the very welcomed 7lb claim of Jenny Powell.
