Ascot Horse Racing Tips: The Best Two Bets for Saturday

Last week was particularly tricky but then this week, we have one of the best day's horse racing of the whole of 2013 and we have got free horse racing betting tips for Champions Day at Ascot.

Ascot is the venue to be seen on Saturday afternoon with a total of six races, and over £2 million in win prize money. Perhaps unsurprisingly the racing is amazingly competitive, and finding any winners for a racing tip may prove difficult.

Qipco British Champions Long Distance Cup – Ascot 1.45pm Betting Tip

Picking and choosing the correct races to bet in may well be just as important as the horses we back, so fingers crossed that I make the right decisions for once in my life! Starting at the beginning, Estimate (2/1 Coral) will be looking to cement her place as the leading stayer in training on the flat for Sir Michael Stoute, and I believe she has both the form and the ability to do so. 1.45pm is the time we need to be prepared for for this first Ascot betting tip as the four-year-old daughter of the legendary Monsun looks to make it three wins out of three for the season, after two victories here including over course and distance. She has clearly been aimed at this race and comes here relatively fresh, and although her last win was on fairly quick ground, her breeding suggests any further rain can only be a bonus and I'm quite happy to nominate her as my main bet this weekend.

British Champions Fillies and Mares Stakes – Ascot 2.55pm Betting Tip

Sometimes, there are horses that you follow through thick and thin, winning or losing, last or first, and in the fillies and mares at 2.55pm Igugu (10/1 Betfred) is just such a horse. Trained by the almost legendary Mike De Kock, I was lucky enough to see her race in South Africa can assure you she is a very very classy mare. Her form figures do not really suggest that she can compete at this level, but they are misleading as she struggled to return to her best after various quarantines imposed on South African horses due to horse sickness. If we look at her best form, then she would prove difficult to beat and makes for a great racing tip at Ascot despite what the official handicapper suggests, and as she is a virtual unknown over here, again aimed at this specific race, she looks likely to be a solid each way price which would be my suggestion if you choose to back her.
