Thursday’s Horse Racing Tips

Where is this week going? As we head into Thursday we’ve plenty more horse racing today, with all flat racing fixtures from Sandown, Wolverhampton, Worcester in the afternoon, while Doncaster and Newbury provide the evening fixtures.

Today’s Horse Racing Tips

Sandown Las Tips –

3.30 – Sandown– ALINSTANTE (Bet now at 13/2 with Paddy Power) hails from the in-form Sir Mark Prescott team and heads here off the back of a decent win last time out at Chelmsford. Yes, this will be harder upped in class, but the yard boast a decent 31% record with their runners at the track and is taken to run a big race under Luke Morris.

BET NOW – ALINSTANTE (e/w)

4.00 – Sandown – A tricky handicap here, but we’ll take a chance with INDELIBLE INK (Bet now at 4/1 with Bet365) doing the business for the Sir Michael Stoute team. The yard have won this race three times since 2007 and although their runner is still a maiden he’s runs some fair races in defeat and gets weight all-round here. He’s run well here before and the drop back to 1m2f is a plus.

Wolverhampton Tips –

2.30– Wolverhampton – Trainer Rae Guest does very well with his fillies and with a 25% record at the track with his runners then his SECRET PALACE (Bet now at 7/2 with William Hill) is the one that stands out here. She was an excellent second last time out at Lingfield, albeit beaten 8 lengths, but it’s interesting they drop her back in trip and in what looks a weak affair looks the one to beat.

4.10 – Wolverhampton – Again not the best of races, so it could pay to stick with a trainer we know des well here at the course. Step forward Ed Walker. He’s got a 20% record here and runs GOODNIGHTSUZY (Bet now at 5/1 with Paddy Power). The horse was well beaten last time but didn’t seem to stay the 1m2f trip at Sandown and so the return to a mile is a big plus. This is also her first run on the AW, but breeding suggests it will suit too.

Worcester Tips –

3.15 – Worcester – John Ferguson’s ENNISTOWN (Bet now at 1/3 with Skybet) was a very easy winner last time out here over CD the fact the yard took the race 12 months ago is a further plus. The horse might have slightly better opposition here, but he travelled well that day and won with any amount in-hand.

3.50 – Worcester – Another race that John Ferguson has a good chance in with Father Edward, but it might be worth chancing Brian Ellison’s MOYODE WOOD (Bet now at 20/1 with Paddy Power). The Brian Ellison team have an excellent 50% record here with their runners and despite not running for 152 days and being a 10 year-old with that decent stable track stat is worth a second glance.

Newbury Tips –

5.30 – Newbury – Not a race we’d normally get involved in, but with trainer Ron Hodges having a 43% record here at the track then his runner BALLYHEIGUE (Bet now at 28/1 with William Hill) is the call. The horse has to put some bad runs behind him, but has dropped to a very decent mark and the jockey gets on well with him – has ridden him on 10 of his last 11 starts.

6.00 – Newbury – John Gosden has booked Frankie Dettori to ride his FORCE (Bet now at 5/2 with Coral) here and after running fifth of 12 in a Listed race last time is expected to find this easier. The drop in trip will suit and the yard are 7 from 33 with their juveniles at the course.

Doncaster Tips –

5.45 – Doncaster – This looks a good opportunity for Roger Varian’s ALMOHTASEB (Bet now at 8/11 with Bet365) to get off the mark. This 3 year-old has been improving by the race and comes here off the back of an improved second last time out at Salisbury.

BET NOW – ALMOHTASEB

9.00 – Doncaster– All The Winds and CLOUD MONKEY (Bet now at 7/2 with Coral) head here in cracking order, but preference is for the last-named. A course winner last time out and is only been put up 3lbs for that by the handicapper. Barry McHugh rides and should make a bold bid in landing the three-timer.
