Channel 4 Horse Racing Betting Tips

1:45 Lingfield
HALLELUJAH (6/1 Coral) has been a useful mare throughout her career, running well in high quality events.  Having hosed up in a small contest a month ago she comes here on a decent weight and represents good value.

2:00 Kempton
BELTOR (3/1 Paddy Power) looked extremely impressive when careering away on his hurdling bow, beating two subsequent winners in the process.  With untapped potential and heaps of improvement likely, he was an obvious selection.

2:20 Newcastle
DARK DUNE (7/1 Coral) finished a creditable third behind a high quality type in Streets of New York.  Having won on all types of ground he is a consist type who represents shrewd connections.  Back on his favoured soft conditions could see him run very well.

2:35 Kempton
MELODIC RENDEZVOUS (5/2 Paddy Power) had a very prestigious career over the smaller obstacles, running in a Champion Hurdle and winning a Grade 1.  Having lost his way he seemed to recapture his form when winning at Bangor on his Chasing debut, and I feel he has plenty of scope for improvement over the bigger obstacles.

2:55 Newcastle
In soft ground over 4miles I’m always keen to oppose horses near the top of the weights.  With that in mind I like the look of FILL THE POWER (E/W)(NAP) (22/1 Coral) a real mudlark who I don’t believe will have worries with trip or ground and is running of a feather weight.

3:10 Kempton
VAGO COLLOGNES (5/4 Ladbrokes) finished a creditable third last time out at Cheltenham, and looks like he’s transferred his form from bumpers to hurdles.  With natural speed, I don’t expect the drop in trip to hinder him and I expect him to go very close.

3:25 Lingfield
GRANDEUR (15/8 William Hill) won this race well last year, and represents real Group class in the line up and I find it very difficult to se him getting beat in this Winter Derby Trial.

3:35 Chepstow
After looking in desperate need of the run last time out SIRE DU GRUGY (10/11 bet365) should emphasise his Cheltenham Festival claims here.  Despite carrying a sizeable weight, he should have far to much class for his rivals.

3:45 Kempton
TAP NIGHT (E/W) (10/1 Betfred) has tumbled down the handicap as of late, and is now running off a very dangerous mark.  The combination of cheekpieces, a longer trip and his feather weight should see him go very close.
