Everton host Man City at Goodison Park on Saturday lunchtime, in what is a crucial Premier League match for both sides.
Man City start as 21/10 favourites to win the match, Everton can be backed at 29/10, whilst the draw is available at 13/5. All odds quoted are available with bet365.
Everton will be relishing the day’s early kick-off, as they aim to get a head start on rivals Liverpool who lie level on points with The Toffees in seventh place having played a game more. David Moyes’s side have a very decent record against Man City in the last few years, winning four of their last five meetings at Goodison, and seven of their last ten league meetings in total. And of course Everton are stubbornly difficult to beat at home, having lost only one of their last 18 home league matches.
Barring a catastrophic Man United collapse in the Premier League title race, the game is a bogey for City, but there is little doubt they will be looking to maintain a push for the title just in case the unthinkable happens. Although Roberto Mancini’s side have won three of the five away league matches they have played in 2013, they have dropped points on the road unexpectedly at QPR and Southampton. However City do continue to be mean defensively, keeping six clean sheets in their last eight Premier League matches.
As stated above, Everton do have a good recent record against Man City and they probably represent a bit of value at the prices, and so for that reason a sensible bet is advised. Also, recent games between the two sides tend to be light on goals with seven of the last ten meetings going under 2.5 goals. As the price on under 2.5 goals is generous in my book, it would be wise to snap up the even money on offer at bet365.
