Supreme Novices Hurdle Tips:

The Supreme Novices Hurdle gets the Cheltenham Festival underway and Douvan is favourite. Willie Mullins will want to get off to a winning start but Douvan has never raced on ground any better than soft and that is a concern, so for our Supreme Novies’ Hurdle tip we are looking elsewhere. Our Cheltenham tip for the Supreme is Jollyallan (10/1 Ladbrokes) who was not disgraced at Sandown last time out and his travelling speed in a hectic race should see him go close.

Festival Handicap Chase Tips:

The third race on day 1 is a handicap and we are tipping Sausalito Sunrise (14/1 Paddy Power) so get the job done. He finished second in each of his two Cheltenham runs at the back end of 2014 and has shown god improvement since his eighth place finish in the Albert Bartlett at the Cheltenham Festival last year. Seven year olds have won three of the last ten and five of the last seven winners have been rated between 128 and 155. Sausalito Sunrise is rated 152. He fell when in touch at Kempton on Boxing Day so a clean round of jumping can see him go close on day 1.

Champion Hurdle Tips:

The Championship race on day 1 of Cheltenham 2015 is the Champion Hurdle and we are against the favourite Faugheen. The relatively inexperienced Faugheen is too short in the betting for our Cheltenham day 1 lucky 15 tip so we are siding with The New One (3/1 Sky Bet). The New One was an unlucky loser last year after being seriously hampered and his rapid change of gears could see him get home best up the hill on Tuesday. If he can jump well and be in touch around the final bend it is hard to see anything else living with his pace.

Mares Hurdle Tips:

Annie Power is the talk of the 2015 Cheltenham Festival and we are adding her to our lucky 15 betting tip. She has only lost once in 12 races but there are concerns about her readiness having not been seen on a race track since March last year. Her defeat in the World Hurdle last year might have stretched her stamina but there will be no concerns of that back over 2 miles 4f.
